Privacy Policy for Semaphore Translate

Last updated: October 2024

Lzdev (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Semaphore Translate mobile application (the “App”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.

1. Information Collection and Use

Semaphore Translate is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

Permissions

To provide its core functionality, the App requires access to your device’s Camera.

  • The camera is used solely for real-time pose detection to interpret semaphore signals.
  • Local Processing Only: All image processing and pose estimation are performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit.
  • No Data Storage: We do not record, store, or transmit any images, videos, or visual data from your camera to our servers or any third parties.

2. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:

Google ML Kit

The App uses Google ML Kit for on-device pose detection. Google may collect some diagnostic information and usage statistics to improve its services. This data is handled according to Google’s Privacy Policy.

Google AdMob

The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob to support its development. AdMob may collect and use data (such as your device’s advertising ID) to show personalized ads. You can learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use their services here.

3. Data Retention and Security

Since we do not collect or store personal data, we do not retain your information. The security of your data is important to us, and by processing all visual data locally on your device, we ensure that your private moments remain private.

4. Children’s Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date at the top.
